Tonight, I had one of my book clubs and got a big surprise when I got there - my diaper bag!! My friend Lindsey know I really wanted this particular bag and coordinated with all of the other book clubbers to go in together to get it for me, wha hoo!!

They also threw in these cute bibs :) he he

Thank you so much ladies for your thoughtfulness - you made my day! My week :)

Day 339 - Book Shower & Cookie Exchange with my neighbors

I seriously live on the best street ever!

Tonight my neighbors hosted a sweet baby shower, complete with a delicious dinner, cookie exchange and loads of great books for out boys. Not to mention the cookie exchange was so simple for me - I didn't have to bring anything but got to take all of the yummy treats home, love that!

Check out this adorable invite my neighbor Katie designed just for my shower :)

I am feeling so blessed tonight to be surrounded by so many wonderful neighbors, it makes living away from Omaha so much easier.

Thanks to all!!

Day 338 - Boulevard Brewery Tour

Today we went with our dear friends the Leifs to the Boulevard Brewery tour, although Quinn and I had been before, this was our first official tour and it was great (even while over 8 months pregnant with twins) :)

I didn't take any pics, but Lindsey did, you can check them out here.

Other firsts: Our glider for the nursery got delivered this morning :) I hope to have the completed nursery pics posted soon, but for now we are still putting together the finishing touches, so here's a little preview of our chair - (this image is straight from the website, not our actual room)

So cozy!

Day 333 - Hatties Coffee Shop

Today, I had my semi-annual teeth cleaning and because I am pregnant I thought it made perfect sense to treat myself to a cup of hot chocolate afterwards :)

Right near my dentist office is a little coffee shop that I have been wanting to try for quite a while now, espeically since I have heard great things from many of my friends. Hattie's Fine Coffee is a cute little shop with a relaxed atmosphere.

My hot chocolate was pretty delicious, not the best ever, but I would give it an 8 on a 10 point scale.

Other Firsts: Tonight some girlfriend and I went to check out a new movie theater, Westglen 18 and saw Morning Glory. The theater was not busy at all, which I love (probably not too great for business though) and the movie was very charming, a great night out with some girlfriends :)

Day 315 - Roman's first baby sitters

Happy Birthday Lindsey!! We were back at the Leif's tonight, but this time to baby sit the cutest little man, Roman - so his momma could go on a hot date with her hubby to celebrate her birthday.

Quinn was so sweet holding little Roman

We are so lucky to have such terrific friends and to get to be Romans first official babysitters :)

Day 310 - First Baby Shower (and Johnny's BBQ)

Tonight we had our first baby shower. It was actually called a Baby Party and a party it was!! Quinn's siblings all hosted it for us here and Kansas City and it was so much fun. We invited guys & gals which was great so Quinn could be a part of all the baby goodness. Plus my parents and some Quinn's immediate family all came down from Omaha which made the evening extra special.

Our friends & family were so thoughtful & generous in helping us to prepare for our little bundles of joy. Thank you all!!

The night ended with a dance party in the kitchen . . . by far the coolest baby party I've ever been a part of :) I even got a nice leg massage from my momma & friend Anne at the end of the night.

Other Firsts: Before the shower my parents, Quinn & I went to dinner at Johnny's BBQ. My parents actually saw it featured on the food network last night so it was fun to go there with them and try out the BBQ. In general barbecue isn't my favorite, but tonight my mom & shared a rack of ribs and everything was pretty darn good.

Such a fun night!

Day 286 - Welcome to the World Baby Leif!!

Happy BIRTH-day Roman Leif!

Our dear friends Casey & Lindsey headed to the hospital early this morning and Roman Leif was born just after noon today. This evening we stopped by the hospital for a quick visit to say hello and meet the sweet boy (in all the excitement I didn't even think to take my camera out, so I borrowed this adorable one from the Leif's)

Such a precious little boy!

Lindsey blogs too if you want to see more of Roman and this new, happy little family of 3.

It was such a blessing to get to meet Roman this evening and makes us that much more excited for our boys arrival in just about 3 months. I can only imagine the fun these boys will have together as they grow up!

Day 276 - Louisburg Cider Mill

Today we headed about 40 minutes outside of town to check out the Louisburg Cider Mill and the Cider Festival that was going on this weekend.

We went with the Leif's and had a nice little trip. I had some kettle corn (the best ever) and we all tried some warm apple cider and cider doughnuts :)

The magic doughnut ticket

Other Firsts: Quinn felt both babies move today!!

I love fall :)

Day 274 - Royals Game behind 1st Base

Quinn won free tickets from work to a Royals game. The seats were right behind home plate. We invited the Leif's to join us and it was a great night! The weather was awesome and the Royals won 7-0 against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

I brought my camera and snapped a couple of pictures too :)

Day 272 - Neighbors over for Dinner

Tonight we had our neighbors, Patrick & Ashley over for dinner for the first time.

I didn't take any pictures, but we had a really fun time. I made fancy mac & cheese and they brought dessert. After dinner & dessert we headed down the street to their house to check out the nursery for their new baby on the way - they are expecting their first too and are due in just about 2 weeks!

It was a great night and we are so excited for their new addition to arrive :)

Day 262 - Plaza Pzazz (for the Ronald McDonald House)

This afternoon we went to the first birthday celebration for our neighbor. Happy Birthday Sam!! While there another neighbor asked if Quinn and I would be interested is using some tickets they had for an event that they could no longer go to. The event was called Plaza Pzazz and a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. We were in!

We actually got 4 tickets, so we ended up calling Anne & Andy just about an hour before we had to head out and they were up for joining us - so the 4 of us headed to the Plaza and ended up having such a good time!

Basically the event had a bunch of different restaurants set up with all types of food. We all joked about how we were judging an episode of The Next Top Chef.

Between the 4 of us we tried just about everything there

It was a fun evening outdoors, with great friends, good food and some very entertaining live music :)

Thanks again Pam & John for thinking of us to use your tickets!

Day 254 - Katie & Drews Wedding at Fontenelle Forest

Today was absolutely gorgeous out! Which was wonderful, because our friends Katie & Drew were married.

The ceremony & reception took place at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue, NE. I had never been here before and couldn't have picked a better spot for this couple to say 'I do'.

I didn't have my camera with me to take any pictures, so here is a quick list of some of things I loved about tonight
  • Their Personalized Vows (this honestly may be the first wedding I have ever been to where the couple wrote their own vows). Beautiful
  • The Cakes. Katie & Drew asked their families to each bring a cake and they were all displayed so beautifully - plus there was just lots of cake, which made this pregnant lady very happy. I think I sampled 5 different cakes. Delicious
  • The Dress. Katies dress fit her perfectly and she was beaming all through the night. Gorgeous
  • Dancing under the stars. I loved how the dancing was set up outside, we had so much fun dancing the night away. Joyful
After the wedding Quinn and I headed to my parents lake house to sleep for the night and before we got ready for bed posed for a quick picture, mainly to share my growing bump (since I don't have a maternity dress yet I squeezed into a stretchy dress I have had forever)

Day 242 - Yoga At Lindsey's

After work tonight I headed over to my friend Lindsey's house for some prenatal yoga.

She has a great living room with a large window backing up to lots of trees & plants - our view was just as good as the yogis in Lindsey's video

Thanks Lindsey! Let's do it again soon :)

After yoga we headed to the movie theater to meet with more girlfriends and to see Eat, Love, Pray - a busy night, but worth it for some much needed girl-time.

Day 224 - Canvas Prints - Take 2

Tonight I ordered canvas prints (this time I am certain it worked) for our friends the Arther's. I attempted ordering them from Cosco a while back, but the layout of the pictures wasn't working plus there were a few other glitches. The Canvas4Life site was so user friendly and I just felt more confident ordering from here. Plus they have a 100% gaurentee - for any reason :)

I will try to remember to come back and update this post once the final product arrives!

Day 210 - Mellow Mushroom

ROAD TRIP!!

Quinn and I haven't taken a road trip for a long while (other than our very regular car rides to Omaha) so this morning when we set out for Denver we were pretty excited.

The main purpose for this little adventure is to get to Breckenridge, CO for a family reunion on Quinn's side, but we are also making a vacation out of it with all of Quinn's immediate family and a stop in Denver tonight to spend some time with our good friends Bob & Ellen.

We went to dinner in down town Denver and Bob & Ellen picked a great restaurant, the Mellow Mushroom

It had a neat urban, retro and modern decore

We started off with the fresh pretzels - the dough was so warm and delicious!

Quinn and I shared a cheese pizza with mushrooms, tomatoes and onions, it was so good!

The food was great (the service could of been better) and the company was wonderful!

Thanks Bob & Ellen for the great company over dinner and for having us as your guests for the night. We hope we get to see you soon!!

Day 205 - Bethany & Stephen's Wedding Day

This evening we celebrated the wedding of our dear friends Bethany & Stephen. It was a beautiful ceremony and such a fun reception!

above & below photo by lizabeth photography

The wedding ceremony was at Redemptorist Catholic church. This was my first time here and it was a very beautiful building; the perfect setting for Bethany & Stephen's elegant, evening wedding celebration

The reception was held at Club 1000 and it was decorated so lovely. There were multi-sized white paper round lanterns all above the dance floor and each table had an interesting variety of flowers and candles that helped set a simple, yet elegant mood for the dinner and dancing :)

We had a great time and couldn't be happier for Bethany & Stephen!!

Day 200 - Veronica

We said good bye to Vegas this morning

And once at the airport, Quinn and I each headed out on our own, Quinn back to KC and me onto Omaha. But before we took off we put in one last dollar at an airport slot machine, and after a couple of pulls Quinn turned his $1 into $50 :)

A fun way to end our Las Vegas adventure.

When I landed in Omaha a little after 6 this evening, my mom was there to pick me up :) After a quick dinner with my parents, I headed over to my good friend's Ryan & Tiffany's house to finally meet their baby girl Veronica

(unfortunately I forgot my camera so I borrowed this picture from Tiffany's facebook)

Veronica, is such a doll! I am so glad I got to meet her in person tonight and hope her mommy let's me visit again soon :)

Other Firsts:
Before heading to my parents house we picked up some gyros at The Greek Islands restaurant (I had never been here before, but plan to stop again soon. The food was great and the restaurant was simple & charming.

Day 191 - Garozzo's

Tonight we had dinner at a Kansas City favorite, the original Garozzo's

After a little confusion on where we were actually going, our good friends the Kirchner's, Quinn and I settled into out table and had a great evening.

Scott was quick to make best buddies with our waitress, which always make for a more interesting dinning experience :) He ended up ordering the largest item on the menu . . .

The Three-Way Pasta was enough for our entire table!

I ordered the raviolis with a meat ball and Quinn and Katie each had one of the Chicken Spiedini's

All of our meals were great, we each had a to-go box, but Quinn was sure to not waste any of the wine

We were the last ones in the dinning area, so we decided Quinn's finishing the wine straight from the bottle was totally appropriate.

Cheers to a fun night with great friends!
