Day 185 - Mom's Cafe in Plattsmouth, NE

Happy Fourth of July!

Most of the day here was rainy - not exactly the Independence Day we had in mind, but we made the best of it.

Since we knew the rain would limit our options for something new Quinn and I decided to stop for lunch in Plattsmouth, NE on our way to the lake. It's a pretty small town and not a lot of places were open, but we ended up finding our was into a little diner called Mom's Cafe.

It was old fashioned and the waitresses were friendly.

Quinn ordered an omelet and I had to try the chicken fried steak (it was the house specialty). Both our meals were good portions and pretty tasty.

It was a good all-American lunch to start our day!

Once we got to the lake, we had fun despite the weather and did s'mores & fireworks later in the evening and it even cleared up enough so Quinn and I could take the tandem bike around and Quinn did some jet-skiing too. All-in-all it was a nice, relaxing holiday at the lake (although next year I would love it if the weather would cooperate a little more!)
