Day 197 - Beatles LOVE show, Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas!!

After a half day at work, Quinn and I headed to the airport for a long-weekend get-away :) When we arrived Quinn had arranged for a car & driver pick us up (I felt so fancy), plus we even got a free upgrade from a car to an Escalade AND since we had the car for an hour we also had him take us through In-N-Out burger, Yummy! Such a fun way to start off our weekend.

By the time we got all checked in and cleaned up in our hotel room at the Wynn (nice hotel with a terrible check-in process) it was time to head over to the Mirage and pick up our tickets for the Beatles Love show.

We both have heard great reviews from family, friends & associates about the show and neither of us had ever been to a Cirque Du Soleil show, so tonight we were able to cross that off our list.

Once we picked up our tickets we had some time to kill, so we stopped into the BB King restaurant and bar for some drinks

There were absolutely NO pictures allowed inside, so all we have are our mushroom-laced memories. Obviously, we weren't actually 'high' but the choreography and story line was one I imagine was made to make us feel like we were - I mean, it was Beatles music!

With that being said, the show really was awesome! Some of the stories where a bit out-there and tough to follow, but the performances were amazing. I think my favorite would have to be the under-water scenes where Octopus's Garden played while performers hung from acrobatic contraptions hanging from the ceiling and gracefully flowed along to the music. Here Comes the Sun, was another beautiful piece that was very simple and elegant. There were 4 woman performances all in white on large, swinging ropes and one, strong male performer in center stage who showed off some very impressive flexibility & strength poses.

Most of the scenes and songs had so much going on that I kept thinking, if I sat in a different part of the theater next time it would be like being at a different show. As we excited the theater, we had to stop and pose with Sargent Pepper :)

If I had to describe the show in just a few words they would be, vibrant, energetic, creative, captivating and magical.

A great first night in Vegas!
