Day 40 - Turning Tortillas into Chips

Tonight we had the left overs from our Super Bowl get-together for dinner. Nothing too exciting, but I did make chips out of the left over tortillas for the first time, which was fun.

Our local grocery store has great tortilla's so we bought a 36 count (lots of tortilla's) and I knew we would never get through them all (for $1.99 I don't feel too bad about this, but still I hate to waste anything) - in addition to this the actually chips we had bought were basically all crumbs, so I had the idea to cook up some of the tortillas and make chips.

I didn't know exactly how to do this, so at first I took a few tortillas and tried to bake them in the oven. This might of worked and maybe I was just being impatient but after a few minutes in the oven (and only getting warm tortilla's - no crisp) I took them out and moved on to plan B

I pulled out my trusty skillet and cooked them up

This worked great and we had some yummy corn tortilla chips with our dinner
